The Bold and the Bashful. Vocabulary terms Bold: A bold person is a person who is extrovert, brave, confident, talkative, and outgoing. Example: she was bold enough to tell him how she feels about him. Bashful means timid, shy. Example: when I was younger I was very bashful and didn`t like to be noticed. Aloof means a person is distant, unfriendly or antisocial. Example: he kept himself aloof at the party. Break the ice is to get people socializing. Example: asking for the time or how the weather is, is a the most common ways to break the ice. Adverse Negative, opposed. Example: He was adverse to answer questions about himself. Fill the void is to overcome loneliness or emptiness. Example: they’re trying to fill the void Michael left when he died. A Handicap is a Disadvantage, obstacle.
