Unit 1   The Internet and other addictions

Nowadays many people around the world are being so addicted to the Internet, that many of them usually spend more hours checking their cell phone than other things. Due to be hooked to the Internet, today a lot of relationship has been broken up. Almost everywhere you go, you can see talking or chatting on their cell phone and hardly they pay attantion to those being by their side. Ithink people enjoy most talking or texting through their phone than in person.

Grammar "using wish".

- Yesterday Igot into a big trouble with one of my best friend due to a misunderstanding. I wish he hasn't so upset.
- Many people are dying due to that terrible disease today. I wish Ihad a vaccine for curing it. My mother wishes she could be young again.
- Did you get to know what's become of Tonny? No. I wish I could, but nobody  told me about his whereabouts.



Unit 2  Honesty is the best policy

Vocabulary

-Iguess that among all these things happening something that might be terrible.
-It really important to see news and get to know what is happening, but we must not believe everything told because many of the information are intended.
-When I first started to hear my mother talking about her father's death, I did not understand, but I began to put the pieces together and then Icould know the reason why he died.


Grammar (modal verbs)

- Wilson says he is working on the same project he was last year, but I think he must must be lying because he does not have enough income for it.

- They say that they arrived at 12:00 o'clock to the beach, but they couldn't have arrived that time since they did't leave quite early.
- Mari should have seen the movie because she knows almost everything what it is about.
- If you cantinue jumping as you were, you might trip and hit your mouth.



Unit 3  The bold and the Bashful

Commentary

Shyness is the feeling of apprehension, lack of comfort,or awkwardness especially when a person is around other people. Many suffer the bad resuly from shyness. Peolpe living in that situation often feel restricted to behave freely since they have low sef-esteem. Sometimes one miss the opportunity of engaging a new job wher it is required to deal with different individuals and due to that fear of expressing our mind one lose it. Also, in school, college, and in many other places we restrain oueselves fo stating our thought and our knowledge, which it perhaps may be of good help in some extent.

Modal Verbs. Degrees of certainty Grammar Explanation We use modals of certainty to make deductions or assumptions, that is, to make judgments and opinions about a situation in the present. These modal verbs are: must, can't/couldn't, should/ought to, may, might and could. We use must when we have reasons to be sure of something. We use can't/couldn't when we think something is impossible. We use should/ ought to where we think something is quite sure and have a big possibility of happening. Might, may and could are used in situations where the speaker is not sure of the deduction or assumption he makes due to lack of information or because it is not evident.
